Brake Failure Light - 1982 GLT 200 1982

evening all,
I have a problem with the brake failure light coming on intermitantly.. it will stay on for 2 days and then not come on again for a week or so and then go out again after a few startups.I have read through a lot of postings regarding the Brake Failure Light and have checked brakes for leaks and the switch wiring and have found no apparent problems.
I went to a 1 volvo repairman and he says that it's probably the master cylinder that is causing the problem and will cost $200 for the master cylinder and about $80 labour to install. Another volvo shop says that it may be the junction block under the car for all of the brake lines and recommends that to start with the brakes should be bleed to see if that solves the problem. If that doesn't work then replace the junction block... anyone know the best way to go to try and track down the problem?? Other places to look to.

any and all help appreciated,
Thank
John I.
