AW70 Shifter knob removal to replace plastic shifter cover 200 1992

Use a thin screwdriver to pry out the OD button. Then use the same screwdriver to pry out the top button; the shifter head is very rubbery and will be fine. Stuff the wires to the OD button back into the shifter head. Next, you simply have to jerk the shifter head straight up. It may be very stuck on, and you may end up slamming your knuckles into the roof, but that's how it comes off; its just a press-fit.
