AW70 Shifter knob removal to replace plastic shifter cover 200 1992

Hello, The shifter detent button needs to be removed first. The best way without breaking the plastic is to use a hair drier on high setting, give it plenty of time to heat up and the use two L shaped hooks to pull the button out. Once the button is off, remove the OD switch, the shifter should come right off, if it has been glued on, use a little Goof Off and a skewer to separate the shifter from the lever. Pauli
