Vacuum hoses, should they be tight 200 1984

Hi folks,

Over the years, I've replaced a few vacuum hoses. I recently replaced the flame trap, and the small hose going from it to the intake manifold, as the old one was dried and split. I also replaced the one from the intake manifold to the ICU, which I had already rerouted around the firewall. That one wasn't broken but was loose on the nipple and kept coming off while I was in there fiddling. The 5/32 hoses from the auto store fit tighter on those nipples.

I also recently replaced the bellows between the AMM and throttle body. My old one had cracks that I had repaired years ago and that were opening up again, it was time for a fresh hose.

That said, I noticed that the 2 hoses (and perhaps some others) starting from the bellows (one going to the flame trap and the other somewhere else, IAC valve I think) have a relatively loose connection on the bellows, they can be pulled off easily. None of the vac hoses have clamps. I think I read clamps are found on the turbo cars, which have opposite vacuum.

So, is such looseness an issue that can cause vacuum problems, and should those hoses be replaced? or clamped? (I would hesitate clamping anything onto the outlets from the bellows, as that seems fragile). I think they are clamped onto the IAC valve itself.
