240- Hesitation HELP 200 1990

Hey,

My 1990 240 Volvo is acting up a bit. It has a hesitation when I accelerate hard from a stop. If I gently accelerate, it goes great. Car runs great when I am cruising along (even when I accelerate hard on the freeway, etc..) I checked for codes and got a 2-3-1, no check engine light.
My mechanic put in a new off brand AMM a few months ago. Could that be the issue? I had the cat replaced a while back. Maybe there is a stray piece of honeycomb in the exhaust? It's got new plugs, cap , rotor, air filter, fuel filter, tranny fluid, vacuum hoses, etc... The accordion hose from AMM to intake looks great.
