SPOKE TOO SOON ABOUT CPS. UGH!!! 900

Hi! My battery had a good charge, so I reinstalled it and gave it a shot in starting the 1993 940 wagon. I had ZERO issues installing the new crank position sensor. But now the car just cranks and won't start. I had AAA come to see if it could be jumped, but the guy said that the car isn't getting any spark. He listened in the fuel tank to see if the fuel pump was coming on (with turning the key on), and he said that the fuel pump sounded OK. He pulled one of the plugs out and said that if the car had "spark," something should have happened with the plug wire (not sure what). So I'm back to square one.

Is it possible that I got a bad crank position sensor (which they call an engine speed sensor) from VOLVO?

Any ideas as to what I should do next? So disappointed, but I remain hopeful!

Susan
