Ready to Start the Resurrection Process 700

Okay. I ended up in a hurry and did *nothing* in prep for this. I only had my wife available as a helper for a certain amount of time, so we rushed off with crossed fingers.

We got there. It was disgusting, all the layers of filth and huge spider webs on my car. So sad...

I opened her up and the steering wheel was covered in mold splotches.

HOWEVER -- My IPD headliner kit that I installed in 2005 still looks brand new. The adhesive held perfectly sitting out there in the Mississippi heat for eight years! It looked great two years ago when I parked it. But for some reason I thought it would all be hanging down again today.

Gee, when you follow the directions scrupulously that adhesive works really well!

Best. Repair Ever.

Now, on to the mess at hand.

I let my Jeep (Optima Red Top, pre-outsourcing but still very strong) charge the 740's battery for about a half an hour as it was D-E-A-D dead. After 30 minutes it started right up. I let them run together for another half hour, pulled the cables, shut the hoods and DROVE THE THING HOME. No problems, no funny noises, no ill-mannered behaviors. Just the same problems it had before I parked it, except for the stalling issue.

After we got it home and parked we allowed it to run for another half hour to keep charging the battery.

I stopped it and restarted and it had no problems.

I love this car!

It needs a LOT of attention. I will change all fluids over this next week. Then all the rubber under the hood.

I will take off and clean several parts that I had intended to do prior to the parking and start checking all the sensors and wiring and vacuum lines the next one.

After that I will do a full tuneup.

Then I will start with any codes, though there were none as the battery had been drained for some time.

After it is sort of running again I will see if there is any OBD information for me to work with.

Thanks guys!

Here is a 43 second video of the thing running. It was taken about two minutes after I got it started and it is not yet warmed up. The thermostat is still closed in this clip. Sorry that the Jeep is also running right next to it. But once I get away from the jeep you can hear the B230F chugging along, happy to once again be "aive"... ;-)
