Fuel Injection Relay Soldering Time 200

My 1992 245 has been having an occasional problem starting. I realized that I didn't hear the buzz/click of the fuel injuection system when the key is turned on.

Yesterday after work I resoldered the relay and put it back in place. Problem solved. Looked like 3 of the solder joints were questionable.

I have a spare relay in the trunk that I also resoldered.

I'm at the point where I've owned the car for 13 years and am comfortable working on it. I also usually have a good idea about what might be causing the trouble thanks to the Brickboard.

My 245 is starting to get some rust issues and the seat foam and seat grids are deteriorated. I'd like to fix the rust and seats, but not quite sure it's worth the effort. It is nice being able to fix the car when things go wrong. But it would also be nice to not have things go wrong.

Keeping my eye out for a nice 940.
Wondering if I can learn to weld.
Any advice for how to fix a hole in the rocker panel below the driver's door that is about the size of a quarter?
