Wet floor on passenger side 200 1992

I continue to have a condensation drip from the pipe that passes through the firewall, bends and goes into the evaporator. The foam cover had broken down and allowed the condensation to pool onto the carpet. I removed the old foam, replaced it with something similar and secured it in multiple places with zip ties, but it still leaks. My son-in-law has a '91 that stays bone dry, but his foam is nice and intact. Any suggestions? I'd really like to put my carpet back in. Thanks in advance.
