Time to give up on my distributor?

Trying to decide if it's time to give up on my VJU4BL33 distributor.
I'm slowly working through everything in my engine compartment and getting things sorted out.
It was converted over to a Crane XR700 several years ago, since the lobes were pretty worn.
Tried to check both the centrifugal advance and the vacuum while it was in the car, and definitely gummed up.
So I pulled it to take a better look at it and take it apart and clean it. Found that the rotor was wider
at the base than an older rotor I had and is rubbing on the sensor for the Crane.
The rotor also doesn't fit completely tight. I can move it about 1 deg when I wiggle it. The shaft also has
at least a 1/4" of vertical play.
When I disassembled it to clean the centrifugal mechanism and figure out why that was sticking, both the fiber
washer and the thin sheet of material under the weights crumbled to dust. The only good thing I found is that
the vacuum does move the control arm when I suck on the hose, but not the plate itself.

So is this repairable? Worth repairing? There are some VJU4BL33's on ebay for around $115. Figure they're
better off than mine, and clean them up and put my Crane system in one of those? Or bite the bullet and
get a 123? Not worried about keeping this car stock.
