I agree with the earlier response, this is almost certainly simply bad electrical connections under the hood. But I think you should take a thorough approach to getting the electrical system cleaned up, because otherwise the car is likely to flake out again due to a different poor connection.
-using a small wire brush, clean the connections at both battery terminals and make sure the terminals are tight (but not over-tight) when you're done. (when cleaning the hot side, keep the ground side disconnected) Then and clean/tighten the ground connection to chassis and engine block. If you're inclined (WITH THE BATTERY DISCONNECTED, BECAUSE THESE ARE UNSWITCHED AND UNFUSED!!) clean the hot connections on the back of the alternator and where the line from alternator meets the line from the battery on the starter.
-check the integrity (physical and electrical) of the 25 amp fuse on the drivers side fender under the hood. That fuse serves the fuel injection computer. If you have the original fuse holder, think seriously about going to the auto parts store and getting a modern waterproof replacement fuse holder. This would explain stalling and no-start, it would NOT explain your other electrical issues.
-gently spin the fuses in the fuse holders to rub off corrosion on the tips.
These cars are prone to electrical faults if you don't keep the connections clean. I have a 1989 also, and cleaning the battery connections and the ground connections is part of my annual maintenance routine, as is spinning the fuses. Replacing the 25 amp fuse was not optional in my case, the plastic crumbled when I touched it.
