15 MPG??? 200 1983

Until recently I havent cared to check the gas mileage on my '83 245. I've been more focused on getting the old girl to run smoothly and start on cold mornings. I've done all the tune up I can think of, and she is running pretty good...ish.

I started commuting recently and felt that I filled up a little too often, even for an old brick.
So I started a gas log and my first entry showed 15.6 MPG!!
I started with google and it sounds like most healthy bricks our getting around 28 MPG, on the HWY.

The following are all new in the last few months: cap, rotar, wires, plugs(going to check on them again today), air filter, fuel filter, coolant temp sensor( ohms didn't check out on old one), O2 sensor.
And, um...no more cat :)

I also did this trick and it helped the cold start tremendously!

So where I'm at....

The good:
-accelerates smoothly.
-Plenty of power.

The not great:
-Idl seems a little wobbly.
-Some times when I start it up, after it has sat for a while, it will sound like it is only catching on a couple cylinders, it is a fast sound. If I give it gas it will catch the rest and sound "normal."
-15.6 MPG!!!!!!

I'd love the the input of those that are getting better gas mileage than me.
Thanks
