How do I tell if it's AC compressor bearings or AC clutch bearings freezing up? 700 1990

After losing two belts in 100 miles of driving, with new poly bushings installed, I started turning my compressor by hand to check for seizing bearings.

When rotating the inside part of the compressor - where the clutch sits - it binds up every 3 or 4 revolutions. Not super hard, but that's cold. Backing it up and rotating it again gets it past the rough spot, so I figure it's shot bearings.

The outer path the belt rides on spins freely though (I think). It doesn't bind at all.

Which one is the clutch bearings? I would think failed clutch bearings would be on the outside, failed compressor bearings would be on the inside. I'm not sure what brand my AC compressor is, but I can look and see.
