Base Coat / Clear Coat Paintjob costs 444-544

My '63 is eventually going to need a new paintjob. There's some surface rust about to show in some choice areas and some flaking near some joints. I'm probably going to get some of the paint touched up for now, the rust taken care of and blended where possible for a short term solution. It's a blue metallic Volvo colour and I'm hoping to re-paint it with the same colour.

I know this is going to generate some differencing of opinions but I would like to get an idea of what a decent full paintjob SHOULD cost--this is not a concours car nor will it be a garage queen so I don't think I need a 1-stage job done. I simply want the car to be rust and chip free and a 2-stage job seems to be what I'd go for. The interior paint will stay painted as it is as it's perfectly fine.

I've seen pro jobs charge $20,000. I'm not looking for perfection but from other people's experiences, how much did you pay, if you don't mind sharing.
