Sunset over the Sonoran Desert 120-130

That's what my amp light looked like right after (or may have beeen simutaneously) my wipers stopped working today.

Bright orange like I've never seen before! First I noticed the wipers stopped then spotted the fire ball on my dash. No horn either so I guessed that a fuse blew, that was right-the little one in the top position in the fuse box. What amp is that one? 25?

Then, using my extreme powers of deduction, I came to the conclusion that these two things-blown fuse and sunset red warning light-were symptoms of the same problem.

So my question is "Where do I start looking?" Is it more likely a short in a wire or could the generator have comitted hari kari?

A hint, I took ingrid (my 67 wagon) to a touchless car wash early today but the problem did not manifest until hours later, obviously it was raining at that time
this happened.
