Strange Power Loss 900 1992

1992 945NA, w Regina, 200k, great running and well maintained Volvo.
While moving in traffic, after about five minutes of restarting car in the middle of the day, at about 25mph, the car experienced no throttle response for about five seconds: the engine did not stall, was at idle, no warning lights came on, just no response from the gas pedal as I tried to accelerate--the car just coasted for the mentioned five seconds, then it "caught" and proceeded as if nothing had happened. This happened a few days ago and has not repeated even though I expect something is amiss, but what? Never had this happen in any car before... Thoughts?
