ABS light and speedometer 900 1991

I just resurrected my 940 after having it sit for 8 months, and installed my winter tires. I now have a flashing ABS light and in addition the speedo is intermittent while driving. The speedo also jumps up and around when the key is just switched on. Are these faults common to a single cause? Would this likely be the sender on the rear axle? Or are they two separate faults, one of which would be a wheel sensor and the other one somewhere else? I have done some reading on the \FAQs but would like the collective's opinion before I crawl around in the dirt.
Thanks!
JD
