Broken Stud 200

I broke an exhaust manifold stud in my son's 242. It's in a good spot to get to at the most forward part of the engine. There's about a 1/4 inch or more of stud sticking out. I just finished heating up the head around the stud with my tiny soldering torch then doused it with PB Blaster. I'm going to let that sit then repeat (at least soaking in PB Blast) for a day or so. Then I was going to try and grab it with a pair of vice grips and pray.

That's the plan ladies and gents. Are there better ideas out there? I'm trying to avoid drilling using the extractor just because it intimidates the crap outta me.
