I have a 1983 242 with 159K miles. When cold it starts instantly runs smooth with no hunting, gas mileage is as high as 20 if I keep my foot out of it. When I park the car and start it later sometimes I have to crank the starter 3 to 5 seconds to get it to start. When it does start it runs smooth. I figure this is something fixable if I am kicked in the correct dircetion.
