Top gasket of water pump leaking a bit - 1993 240 200

I just did a such repair 3 days ago.

The pump is 3 years old. A year and a half ago I had to fix a leak at the top seal. I assumed at the time I had not applied enough pressure to make a good contact with the head when I put a new pump. I reinstalled the same seal with Permatex blue silicone rubber.

This time I put a new seal (I had on my parts shelf, brand not known)with red Permatex. I found the old seal had lost all its memory, it was rather hard.

Next time I will use Volvo seals because I never had such problems since 1967, the year I had my first Volvo.
