front disc brake conversion 444-544

Today I converted my 1961 544 to front disc brakes.

It uses a 122 front hub and 2004 Land Rover Defender rotor and a Volvo 240 series ABS front brake caliper. ABS calipers use a single hydraulic inlet and the NON-ABS uses two hydraulic inlets. Go figure.

I had some caliper adapter patterns made up for a 122 last year. I took those patterns and drilled them to fit the 544 spindles.

After I make up my transmission mount and run brake lines I will find a suitable master cylinder to use.

Here are some pictures. Rims are not PINK. They are red.
