Weird Acceleration 200 1985

HI:

I have an '85 245 with jetronic 2.2 (according to Haynes), non turbo. It sat for 10 yrs and I just got it started.

It idles fine but won't accelerate. When I hold the pedal down part way (not pumping), it revs in short spurts "rev-rev-rev-rev-". When I hold it down all the way it revs more vigorously several times and dies. Can any one suggest a cause?

replaced 2 computers and distributor, both gas pumps, fuel relay, cleaned the tank and replaced the in-tank filter, cleaned the injectors. re-aligned the shift so the park-neutral switch works. Not saying volvo's a bad car (lots of plastic though), but this one has so many fatal problems I don't see how the second through 5th could have occurred because any one should have laid up the car to keep the next from developing. stubborn perseverance I guess. body looks nice.

thanks
Bill
