Intermitten tach on my 84 242TIC 200 1984

Well I'm sure I'm not the first on this one... My tach will intermittently work.. Start in the morning she's fine drive a little bit then nothing.. I've checked the loom and the connections in back of the tach and all seems solid. Then I checked the connections on the coil and the seem good.. So where else would I look for connections to be flaky and where else does the red green and black wires in the loom connect to.....
