Speedometer cable swapping 444-544

There are different gear ratios in the M4 vs. the M40 transmissions, and if the M40 you put in your car isn't from a car with the same rear axle ratio as yours, the speedo will be off.

This is not a specific problem to Volvo, btw, but many speedo cables (at least American cars I've done swaps on), have internchangeable speedo drive gears on the cable itself. You match it up to your rear end ratio, swap the gear, then plug the cable back in to the trans. (think Borg Warner T5 transmission).
