the shocks are held in place by a long bolt through the trailer arm and stud bolted to the frame.

the upper stud which bolts to the frame is held in place by a nut on the inner side of the frame. sometimes this nut can work loose causing the stud to wobble which in turn causes the shock to be unstable at its upper mounting point.
