speedo cable replacement question 200 1983

The whole assembly is several parts. The pinion, pinion housing, the lock plate--held to the trans body by a 6mm bolt--it bears against the pinion housing and KEEPS it from rotating, the cable brace (often missing), the actual cable, o-ring on the pinion housing and finally, the pinion shaft seal. Best thing I can do is refer to Art Benstein's great site and this page (hope he won't mind)
