It's entirely possible that you're correct as to the misunderstood question. In this case the notch information came from telephone conversation with, presumably, the counter person at a junkyard chain with multiple yards. He would not have been looking at any transmissions, but pulling up data on a computer. As a side note, "driving distance" has varying definitions. In this case I'm in far eastern WA and the yards in question are along the I-5 corridor and I have to go western WA nest week anyway.
