Sport Exhaust - Eliminating the Front Muffler 200 1992

Hi all! I'm having some trouble with my exhaust system - namely the rear muffler. It needs to be replaced, and in looking for a part we could use I stumbled across this little gem: a sport exhaust kit from iPD (http://www.ipdusa.com/product.aspP_ID=5608&V_ID=11944&strPageHistory=basket). Now, it does eliminate the front muffler/resonator, and I was concerned about the drop in backpressure. I heard that reducing the backpressure can seriously damage the exhaust valves, and while I'm good with replacing the exhaust system I can't afford a new engine! xD

My question to you guys: Will this part drop backpressure enough to cause damage? iPD claims about a 5HP increase, so that's an added bonus - but I don't want to install it if I will run the risk of causing damage.

Thanks!
