Transmission pan drain plug 200

My daughter just got an 88 244 non turbo and getting some things fixed for her. She currently drives our 1993 940 and anxious to get the 240 on the road. This car needs alot of love. The transmission fluid is brown and low. I drained the fluid and the plug came out hard. The plug threads are not nice and I have a new one coming in this afternoon. What size thread is this? If the new plug doesn't srew in easily I'm planning on retapping the pan threads. Thanks Matt
