Fuel pp for side drafts

Guys
Anyone have a preference to fuel pumps when using side draft carbs(DCOE, Dellororettos, Solex ADDHE)?
I'm at that position to decide which way to go.
I have a Volvo competition mechanical pump as listed in the R Sport catalogue. Or I use my electric carter rotary pump that I bought new.
I understand the carter Doesn't need a regulator.. I'm not sure about the volvo one, although one isn't listed with the RSport kit (I believe side drafts are sensitive to fuel pressure)
Also if the recommendation is the Carter where would you locate it, next to the tank ( flooded suction) or in the engine bay?
Obviously engine bay is easier as I don't need to run wires aft, mount in a non exposed position as well as an easier position for maintenance.
Where was the E pump located, does anyone have pics of that location?
Welcome your thoughts and suggestions
Russ
