Volvo 240 stalling issue 200 1984

Hey everyone,

I'm having a bit of an issue and I'm hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction for fixing it. I have a 1984 Volvo GL with a B23E (Aus) engine and automatic gearbox. Occasionally the car stalls when put into drive/reverse soon after starting until it has had some time to warm up. This doesn't happen all the time, maybe 1 out of 10 cold starts and the car seems to idle fine when it's in neutral (including when cold).

I'm unsure as to whether this might be a temp sensor related issue or related to the gearbox somehow (since it idles fine when not in gear). If anyone could give me some assistance with solving this issue I would much appreciate it.

Thanks,

Andrew
