1975 244dl 4sp m.t. vs 1990 244 5sp m.t. which one would be better project car? 200

Hi all, I've come a cross a slight dilema! I am deciding between a rough running 1975 244dl with a 4sp manual tranny w OD. 250,xxx miles but odometer seems to be busted and leaks oil near every seal. The interior is a little rough. The car is as far as I can tell bone stock!

Or a running but with unknown maintenance 1990 244 with 5speed manual tranny. Odometer is stuck at 254,xxx +/-. Sun roof, interior is clean and body is mostly execpt for a front fender bender which would require new front clip pieces.

These would be projects to eventually be mostly stock daily drivers. Owners are asking $700.00 each. Are parts for the 1975 any harder to find than later models? I really just want a manual 240, but the older one has more classic appeal.:-)

Thanks for any advise!
