About 3 years ago I refurbished my '67 122S 4dr. and I purchased 4.5 x 15" Volvo P1800/220 wheels, had them sandblasted and powercoated and had mounted, probably one of the last sets, of Kumho Power Star 758 (165/80R15 87T) tires. They now have 6,750miles on them.
In the meantime, I found a set of 4 Australian made "Superlite" Platimum 8 spoke 6 x 15" alloy wheels, still new in the box at a very reasonable price.
My question is;
A. Should I have the Kumho 165/80R15 tires mounted on the Superlite wheels ?
Has anyone ever mounted a narrow 165 tire on a 6" wide wheel ?
B. Should I sell the stock 4.5x15" steel wheels and hub caps with the Kumho 165/80R15 tires ?
C. And than purchase a set of 195/65R15 tires and have them mounted on the Superlite wheel ?
Any advise and suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks
