BW35 to M41 Conversion 1800 1973

I picked up a ratty 72 1800ES M41 as a donor to replace the running gear in my 73 ES auto. Right now I'm going through the process of removing what I need from the donor. I got the clutch pedal out and the booster/MS out. My hang up is with the brake pedal. It has a fairly complex linkage that connects the pedal to the cable. I've got the cable out but one of the pivot bolts hits the heater plenum before it slides far enough out of the brake pedal to allow it's removal. Do I have to loosen the heater plenum or am I doing something wrong? Also, once that pivot bolt is removed it appears that all that linkage stuff won't be able to be removed from over the top of the steering column. It looks rather boxed in.

The car that will receive the transplant isn't currently here. I'm wondering what, if any, of the structure associated with the pedals needs to be transplanted.

Is there anyone familiar with this operation that can share their knowledge? Thanks.
