940 air mass meter: do they get intermittent? 900 1995

Hi all,

Our 940 has started having intermittent no-run issues. It starts fine, but when it gets warmed up, it dies and the ECU returns a 1-2-1 code, indicating a problem with the air mass meter. Do AMMs get intermittent? All the filaments appear to be intact. Upon unplugging the AMM, it will start up in limp-home mode most of the time, but not always. I disconnected the pre-heat hose to insure that I'm not blowing hot air through the AMM.

Should I just assume a bad AMM and get a new one, or are there other tests I need to perform?

Thanks,

Monty
