1979 245 Speedo Swap 130 mph for 85 mph... 200

Hello all!

First off thanks everyone for the help sorting out my Check Valve and fuel pump issues-

Onward to other things!

I have a 130mph speedo in my 79 245 with a Bad ODO and Bad Trip meter. I want to replace it with a working unit.

A Reputable Volvo mechanic sourced me a Speedo with a working Odo and Trip meter out a car that I have no idea the year make or model.

what I do know is that the numbers on my speedo unit in my car are 1214973

the numbers on the new-to-me unit are 1258988.

In all honesty, I like the 130mph gauge a hole lot better- but in reality, this brick usually tops out around 85 anyway-(if there is the possibility of putting the good ODO in the old speedo- that would be ideal, but I think that's very unlikely) (unless some one knows a secrete trick?)

So, the real question here is will the New-to-me gauge read correct Mph and Miles?

Where would I cross reference the numbers I have to find out?

Thanks!
