When it comes to driveshafts I've more often found stiff joints rather than joints with play. To check, each joint must be manipulated in its full range of motion. Only smooth operation through the full range is acceptable. The support bearing should spin smoothly without any trace of "growl". The bearing support should be supple and not torn or damaged in any way. Be sure the driveshaft is indexed properly between the front and rear halves (look at repair book diagrams of the driveshaft relative to the u-joint positions) and assuming they are correct--mark them so they don't go back together 180 degrees out. -- Dave
