240 not running, spark and fuel ok? - I'm stumped 200 1989

There are a lot of ECU's that will work, don't get any with colored labels, white only. Preferred would be the 561 or 951 but some others that will work fine are 556 933 946 these all control EGR circuits but work.

OBD not working is also something I have heard of more than a couple of times with a failed ECU.
