Rear Coil Spring Fell out From Bottom (95 944) 900 1995

Hi all,

Driving home from work, I heard a loud clunking from the rear passenger side. After jacking it up, I discovered the coil was no longer seated in the lower mounting point. The spring is not broken. However, the mounting point bushing is worn. The top mounting point is secure.

What do you think would cause this? A severely ruptured shock? I wasn't having any suspension related issues before this. The shocks are original to the car.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks
