Red A/C ground wire?? 200

I am lost regarding a short red wire that I think may be the a/c compressor ground wire. I disconnected the compressor unit to be able to replace the bushings with the new blue polys from IPD. There were two wires, one red and one blue that tie in to the engine block. I believe that the red one goes from the engine block to somewhere on the back of the a/c compressor. I can't figure out where on the compressor it goes if it really goes there at all. This is on a 1991 240 and the red wire is maybe 8" - 10" long. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
