Debating a swap on the kittsgreyvolvo 1991 240 sedan from Bosch LH-Jetronic 2.4 and corresponding Bosch ignition EZK to a complete Bosch Jetronic 3.1 and corresponding EZK system from a 1993.
I have a collection of replacement EGR parts for three complete systems I can swap into the 1991 in the event some EGR system part fails. The not so stainless exhaust gas line from the EGR exhaust port (manifold) to the vacuum controlled EGR valve is of concern as it has become rather rusty in the last some-odd years.
My 1992 240 GL sedan with the Bosch Jetronic 3.1 flies and get better mileage with such clean emissions on the gas analyzer you'd think it was a newer LEV auto. The dang thing really performs. It has the iPd turbo exhaust. I'm still getting used to the rumbly exhaust sound. Not nearly so loud as the sport exhausts you hear on Japanese cars like Hondas and such.
They both have their original catalytic converter.
Anyone see a downside to swapping out the LH-2.4/EZK/EGR with a complete spare 1993 Bosch LH-3.1/EZK/No EGR (of course).
I've got the whole shabeel from injectors (I think same Bosch PN), fuel rail, wire harness, boxes, and so forth. The LH-3.1/EZK system worked just fine when the car ran, and the owner ran the damn thing into the ground and into non-movable, large, high inertia object, so sayeth the salvage yard.
I may also have an A or K-cam sourced at a salvage yard in Oh! Canada! (The sovereign neighbor to the North Not in Debt!)
