"E' clip specs (size) for shift linkage on the AW's??

Thanks for you reply Dan.

I am pretty sure the clip and the pin must be gone. Initially I had not thought about the pin being lost but as I continued my search through another small parts cabinet I realized the pin had to be missing as well to provide the complete disconnect that he described.

However, in some of the best luck I have had in some time I came across a pin and two clips I managed to zip into a sandwich bag during a parting out process.

I replaced the bushings on the linkage on his car a month ago and the clip and pin were cleaned up. The clip snapped into place nicely so I have to wonder what happened that the clip obviously came out?
