"E' clip specs (size) for shift linkage on the AW's??

I just replaced these parts on a client's '92 245. I had replaced his shift housing -- didn't like the condition of the pin clip--and lost the "E" clip for the connection at the transmission. A local independent parts store came up with an "E" clip - it worked but I wasn't confident it would stay so I ordered new pieces from Volvo. The clip that secures the pin is similar to the clips on window regulators--a stamped spring steel clip -- called a "lock brace" by Volvo -- part # 989037-7 @ $2.97. The transmission end of the shift linkage is an "E" clip--called an "E-circlip" by Volvo -- part # 951669-1 @ $2.75.
The "E" clip from Volvo had a slightly different shape than the auto parts store clip and definitely fit better. -- Dave
