Thanks for posting you water pump replacement method, I followed it to the letter, especially the part about cleaning the surfaces. When I removed the water pump, it was a mess. The previous installer used some sort of sealant and the gasket came off in pieces, more left on the block than the pump . I even chucked a brush from a gun cleaning kit to get to those hard to reach places. I did this on Sunday, with no leaks seen. I also changed the radiator (metal tanks) at the same time. Distilled water and Zerex for the fill.
