240 air box issues - hot wire module 200 1992

Thanks for taking a look. The car is a '92 245.

To make for a cold air intake on the 240 I removed the long metal hose, flapper and t-stat..and closed off hot air from the engine bay.

After over a year of running issues (and not being able to solve them) I read that the mass air sensor on a 240 has a 'hot wire' module. I realize my mod has more than likely been causing the ECU to react badly ...primarily retarding the timing ..making the valves clatter.

SO ...is the solution to find some parts and restore the air box to factory; OR is there a way to make cold air intake work with a 'hot wire' module.

Thanks ..
