how to reconnect lines to heater core? S90-V90

Hi all,

I got a little stupid and didn't pay attention to how the lines to the heater core were connected. Does the line with the heater valve connect to the top stub or bottom? Looking at the best diagrams I can find, which show no heater valve, I have the lines hooked up correctly. The line connected to the stub at the rear of the block is the one with the valve and is connected to the lower stub on the heater core.

I have heat and the input line is hot, but, the return line is not hot, even after letting the engine idle for 20 minutes.
