I have a 1983 244 with 198K mile that has recently failed CA smog test for just over limits of NOX. After reading through posts I looked for (using a blower up the tailpipe:)) and found an exhaust leak in my header downpipe at the hanger bracket. I would like to replace the downpipe, but notice that what is shown by
IPD is not what I have under my car, it appears to be a different shape with a straighter run of pipe. I did find something that looks right at http://www.swedishautoparts.com/240/Volvo-240-exhaust-parts.html , can someone tell me if the IPD pipe is just for later cars with the 230F engine? Do the earlier B23F engine need this earlier pipe? My plan is to fix this leak and send the injectors out for cleaning and hope this brings me back into compliance. Cliff
