****SOLVED**** 200 1993

Took it to my mechanic:

Changed out the thin gas soaked oil from running too rich. Checked for air leaks (none).

He tapped on the new aftermarket Chinese AMM and was able to change the idle from bad to good, but then it would revert to bad. He checked the contacts in the AMM plug and cleaned it out but we finally decided to go ahead and get a rebuilt Bosch AMM and it worked perfectly. New plugs installed. Fuel pressure regulator working fine.

Conclusion: Bad original AMM and the Chinese one I got to replace it on Ebay was questionable, but he noticed the plug where it snapped on was kind of "wiggly" and loose, probably leading to the sporadic poor running car or the electronics inside it were not good. Rebuilt Bosch unit fixed it and is cheaper than a car note.

Thanks to all for their input!
