Minor exh. gasket project turns major 700

1986 745T 158,000 miles.

I chose to change the leaking exhaust manifold gasket this morning. Wanted to get to the cam seal replacement on the daughter's S40 this weekend so I figured I'd knock this out in a hurry.

Knew it would be kind of a pain, but I did it back in 1996 @ 100,000 miles while lying on a gravel driveway, so how bad could it be 18 years and 58K later?

Everything went great for about a half hour - then a manifold stud snapped off in the head. It's not protruding at all. The plan now is to PB Blast it, cross fingers / pray etc/, rap it with a punch a few times, try to unscrew it, then left handed drill bit.

This stinks. Sigh.
