Weird noise when backing and turning........crrreeeeakkk.... 200 1991

Our 16 year-old takes her driving test in the morning in our 91 240 - bought when her 22 year-old sister was born. Pretty cool. I have now spent the requisite 40 hours riding with her required by Georgia law, and have been chasing a weird sound that occurs when she backs when doing a 3-point turn or parallel parking.

I am hearing a creaking noise - sounds like dash level, mostly on the passenger side, kind of like an old ship. It occurs only when she backs with the wheel cocked, and is intermittent and only lasts a few seconds.

Just replaced all the sway bar/drop link bushings, which were shot, but everything else in the suspension looks good and is tight. All bushings in the car are poly. I thought I found it several times - loose relay, etc., but nothing under the dash remains loose. The fun continues.

Any ideas? Thanks folks!
